I’ve been supporting PROMIXX ad-hoc alongside their highly skilled in-house design team since 2020, as a consultant. PROMIXX is a rewarding client to work with, driven by a strong & clear vision for new product development that leads to product solutions that are leaders in their market segment.
I was briefed to develop concept designs for the new shaker bottle, which were developed over several design stages. PROMIXX then took the project in-house for the final DFM stage and manufacturing liaison. The Pursuit bottle has sold millions of units globally, and has been developed by the PROMIXX team into stainless steel and insulated variations.
The Pursuit bottle has been highly successful and can be found in many high street retailers across Europe and the US, including Whole Foods Market and Walmart. The bottle has sold many millions of units and sits in the top 10 Amazon list for best selling sports supplement bottles.
Opportunity
PROMIXX identified that existing nutrition bottles mixed shakes with a loose wire ball create micro plastic abrasion that ends up in the drink. Existing shakers were also poor in quality with little aesthetic development, creating an opportunity to create something worthy of being kept as a lifestyle accessory.
Solution
Following these insights, the updated bottle design features a snap in place, easy to clean agitator which creates controlled radial flow for smooth, clump free shakes. The bottle also features premium rubber seals and sustainable Ecozen plastic. The result is a successful product design that has sold millions of units globally.
