Designed for traditional steel drop forging.
I was commissioned by the in-house design team at British gardening tool manufacturer Kent & Stowe, to support by designing a new set of heavy duty, traditional secateurs and anvil cutters. I began the design phase with concept sketching, I later developed the designs in 3D CAD, finessing the form through several stages of iteration. The drawing were finally issued for manufacture by the in house team, after prototyping and testing.
The tools were designed with a user centred approach, ensuring excellent ergonomics and function along with maximum longevity and strength through a drop forged manufacturing process. The tools have been in mass production since 2025.

The 2 part body and blades of the product are shaped in a hydraulic forging hammer followed by post processing by hand.
